Crowns

When a tooth is extensively decayed, cracked, or has had a root canal, a crown is needed to restore the structural integrity of the compromised tooth. Crowns, or caps, can easily last 20 plus years once fitted correctly and good oral hygiene is maintained.

To place a crown, the tooth is shaped and built up as needed. A digital scan is taken and sent to our local Tampa Bay lab. In the meantime, you will have a temporary crown. Our crowns are all porcelain (either zirconia or Emax - depending on its location in the mouth) and are made to fit your bite and smile! In certain situations, or upon a patient’s request, a gold or alloy crown can be fabricated.

In some cases, patients may elect to have crowns done for cosmetic reasons in order to have a more uniform smile, fix a rotated tooth, or reshape natural teeth. Dr. Jainandan can evaluate your concerns during your initial appointment to decide what treatment may be best for you!
